~Welcome~
We gather here today, in the presence of God and family to recognize and renew the marriage vows that Party 1  and Party 2 have originally taken ___year(s) ago.

Through the triumphs and trials of life, Party 1  and Party 2 have found the strength in their love and commitment to each other to endure and to enjoy all that has come their way.
In witnessing this ceremony today, we are observing an outward sign of an inward union that already exists between Party 1 and Party 2. Today they have come before God and before us to publicly affirm their love; to promise to continue to nurture themselves, each other, and this union; and to acknowledge its centrality in their lives.

(Optional)
Let us pray:
God, for the joy of this occasion we thank you. For the meaning of this day we thank you. For this important moment in an ever growing relationship we thank you. For your presence, here and now and for your presence at all times, we thank you.
Amen

~Declaration of Intent~
Good relationships never stop growing.  Like fine wine, they get better with age. Party 1 & Party 2, you have been married now for ___ years, and through all the years of your journey together you have now come to this beautiful setting so that you could renew your vows and commitment of love for each other.

As you continue on your journey together, I ask you to remember this advice:
Let your love be stronger than your anger.
Learn the wisdom of compromise, for it is better to bend than to break.
Believe the best of your beloved rather than the worse.
Confide in your partner and ask for help when you need it.
Remember that true friendship is the basis for any lasting relationship.
Give your spouse the same courtesies and kindness you bestow upon your friends.
Say I love you every day.

Party 1 & Party 2, I remind you that  marriage is a precious gift, a lifelong dedication to love and a daily challenge to love one another more fully and more freely.

~Vows~

With this understanding, do you Party 1 continue to take Party 2 as your beloved wife/husband/partner in life?  Will you continue to be a tender and faithful husband/wife/partner in life?
Will you continue to love and cherish her/him in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, for better or worse, and keep yourself solely unto her/him?

Party 1:

I will

Now that you have declared your intentions, I invite you to share your vows with one another.

Party 1, if you please repeat after me.
Party 2, you are my heart, my best friend, my life. Today before family and friends, I renew my commitment to you. I promise to love and cherish you, respect you and grow with you for all the days of our lives. This is my solemn vow.

Party 2 now if you would please repeat after me.
Party 1, you are my heart, my best friend, my life. Today before family and friends, I renew my commitment to you. I promise to love and cherish you, respect you and grow with you for all the days of our lives. This is my solemn vow.

~Rings~
Party 1 & Party 2 have rings as the outward symbols of your ongoing commitment to each other.

From earliest times, the ring has been a symbol of wedded love. An unbroken and never-ending circle symbolizes a commitment to love that is also never ending.

Party 1 hold Party 2’s hand, feeling that ring on her/his ring, symbolically giving it to her/his again, and say to her/him these words.
From this day on, I recommit myself to you, and this ring is a symbol of my pledge of my love and commitment to you.

~Closing~
Let these rings serve not as locks binding you together, but as keys, unlocking the secrets of your hearts for each other to know, and thus bringing you closer together forever.

This selection from "Captain Corelli's Mandolin", speaks to us why you are standing here today.

Love is a temporary madness,
it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides.
And when it subsides you have to make a decision.
You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together
that it is inconceivable that you should ever part.
Because this is what love is.
Love is not breathlessness,
it is not excitement,
it is not the promulgation of eternal passion.
That is just being "in love" which any fool can do.
Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away,
and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.
Those that truly love, have roots that grow towards each other underground,
and when all the pretty blossom have fallen from their branches,
they find that they are one tree and not two.

(Optional)

Most gracious God, thou hast kindled in these hearts the fire of a divine love. Wilt thou keep it aflame upon the alter of their souls. Wilt thou make the inward aspirations of their hearts the outward reality of their home. Wilt thou make that home a place of light and truth, a place of beauty, a place of joy and happiness all the days of their lives.

Amen.

Inasmuch as you Party 1, and you Party 2 reaffirmed your commitment in holy matrimony and have witnessed the same before God/the Universe/these friends, it is my honor to recognize your recommitment to one another as husband and wife. Therefore, what God has joined together, let man nor woman separate.

May the sun bring you new energy by day.
May the moon softly restore you by night.
May the rain wash away your worries.
And may you live the days of your lives in peace, love, and happiness.

You may kiss!
